This is just what is advertised: a lightweight, corded, one-line desk phone with caller ID and nice big buttons. It's attractive. Like any other purchase, batteries are not included.
The ad when I purchased the phone leads you to believe that it has a jack for a headset, but it does not. I returned the product. Which, by the way, Amazon made it so easy to return I will definitely continue buying from Amazon. Every purchase I have made through Amazon has been great, even if the product did not work out.
I even read the first page of reviews and people were satisfied overall. Got this phone for my office, thought this was a good, reliable phone. Another problem is that I hear a slight echo of myself during conversations. I thought that all office phones had an extension plug for a headset. wrong. Very annoying. Returning it for something a better.
Panasonic makes durable phones that last for years and years. Update: for some reason Amazon changed the picture they had posted of the phone. If my phone had looked like the one pictured I would not have purchased it. My basic requirements for a corded phone are that it:* must be black - this phone is black (except for the cord, which is sort of a dark gray)* must have Caller ID - this phone has Caller ID (the name flashes first, then the number, and if you don't pick up off of this phone it will say "missed call" and include the name/number)* must be DSL wall compatible - this was one of my main requirements as I have a DSL wall filter and if you're like me you have found that very few phones fit nicely on the wall with a DSL filter, but this one includes a wall adapter and fits in very snugly * the ringer must be able to be turned off - this has a side button that will allow me to either turn off the ringer or lower it.Overall this is a fantastic phone. Remember, you are what you buy. I have posted a picture of what the phone looks like.
First of all it wasn't black, and second of all it was grossly long (there is no way it would have fit on my wall with my DSL filter) so I had to replace it with a tiny black extension cord. The phone that I purchased from them is NOT the one pictured (as of 2-1-10). My only complaint is the extension cord. You may want to contact Panasonic if you're interested in purchasing it to have them clarify on what the KX-TSC11B looks like exactly though.I do not use corded phones, but like most people I wanted an alternative to cordless phones in case of an emergency. The Panasonic KX-TSC11B more than meets my basic needs. BTW if you're looking for a set of high-quality cordless phones at a great price, check these out.
With a solid built and quality sound, this phone meet my expectation. No electric needed, it serves well as a back up phone.
